In September 2026, Norwegian business magazine Kapital placed Erling Haaland 123rd on its list of Norway’s 400 richest people, with an estimated fortune of NOK 4.3 billion. At the 16 September exchange rate of about 9.35 kroner to the dollar, that is roughly USD 460 million.
Another widely repeated estimate puts him at around USD 100 million. Same player, same year, a gap of more than four times. This article explains where each number comes from and why neither should be treated as fact.

The honest answer is that nobody outside his inner circle knows. Haaland has never published his finances, so every figure is an outside estimate. Here are the main ones, with their currencies, because mixing them up is how most errors start.
Kapital’s annual ranking of Norway’s richest is the most closely watched Norwegian estimate. Its September 2026 list put Haaland at NOK 4.3 billion, up from NOK 4.1 billion and 114th place a year earlier. In 2022, Kapital had him at about NOK 1.1 billion.
His ranking slipped from 114th to 123rd even as the estimate rose, a reminder that a list position depends on everyone else’s numbers too.
The USD 100 million figure comes from Celebrity Net Worth and is repeated by outlets such as Outlook Business. Smaller sites list anything from USD 40 million to USD 100 million with no stated method.
Kapital’s own coverage describes income as the driver. E24 reported that Kapital estimates Haaland’s annual income at around NOK 800 million, including about NOK 350 million from Manchester City and about NOK 250 million from Nike, with the rest from other sponsors, bonuses and social media. E24 does not say how Kapital turns that income into a single wealth number, and I could not find a published step-by-step method.
The company filings that are public are much smaller. His UK image-rights company had net assets of GBP 19.6 million (about NOK 250 million) at the end of 2025, and his Luxembourg holding companies were reported to be worth EUR 29.6 million in 2024. Those are real numbers, but they are a fraction of NOK 4.3 billion, which suggests Kapital is valuing his earning power and brand, not just adding up balance sheets.
In short, the Kapital number is a considered Norwegian estimate that leans heavily on future income. The Celebrity Net Worth number is a broader, less documented one. Neither is audited. I treat NOK 4.3 billion as the best-sourced estimate available, and as an estimate.
Haaland was born on 21 July 2000 in Leeds, England, where his father, Alf-Inge (Alfie) Haaland, was playing for Leeds United. He is 26 and plays internationally for Norway. His mother, Gry Marita Braut, was a Norwegian heptathlon champion.
The family moved to Bryne in Norway, his parents’ hometown, when he was a toddler. He joined the local club’s youth system as a young child and also played handball and athletics. He made his senior debut for Bryne at 15 and moved to Molde in 2017.

Salzburg and Dortmund. After Molde came Red Bull Salzburg in Austria, then Borussia Dortmund in January 2020. In the Bundesliga he scored 62 goals in 67 league appearances.
Manchester City. He joined City in July 2022 for a reported GBP 51.2 million (about EUR 60 million), paid through a release clause. The impact was immediate: a record 36 Premier League goals in his first season, and a Treble.
By October 2026, City said Haaland had scored 162 goals in 199 appearances and won nine major honours with the club. His third Premier League Golden Boot in four seasons came in 2025-26 with 27 goals, five more than anyone else. He became the fastest player to reach 100 Premier League goals, in 111 games.
The 2026 World Cup. Haaland scored twice late to beat Brazil 2-1 in the last 16, putting Norway into its first World Cup quarter-final and taking him to seven goals in the tournament. Norway then lost 2-1 to England.

In January 2025, Haaland signed a new deal until 2034, reported at about GBP 500,000 a week in base pay. Capology estimates his gross base salary at GBP 27.3 million for 2026-27, about GBP 525,000 a week before bonuses. That is gross pay, before UK tax.
Forbes estimates his on-field earnings, including bonuses, at USD 60 million over the past year.
Forbes puts his off-field income at about USD 20 million a year, with partners including Nike, Beats by Dre and Breitling. Kapital’s reported Nike figure of about NOK 250 million a year (roughly USD 27 million) is higher than Forbes’ entire off-field total. The two don’t line up neatly, and no brand has confirmed contract values, so treat both as estimates.

The Daily Mail reported that his Dolce & Gabbana ambassador deal, which began in 2023, is worth GBP 2 million, a figure relayed by InvestNews and not confirmed.
Haaland keeps his private life out of view, so verified details are thin. Fortune, citing The Sun, reports a house in Cheshire (about USD 8.2 million), a villa in Marbella (about USD 7 million) and an apartment in Oslo (about USD 3.5 million). He has not confirmed these, so treat them as press reports.
Two things matter most. His City contract runs to 2034, which gives him a long runway of guaranteed pay. And Kapital’s list is updated each autumn, so the next estimate, due around September 2027, will show whether the NOK 4.3 billion figure holds up or is revised.
Injuries, form and the commercial pull of future tournaments will all feed into it. Football careers are short, and an estimate built heavily on future earnings is only as solid as the player’s next few seasons.
Kapital estimated it at NOK 4.3 billion (about USD 460 million) in September 2026. Celebrity Net Worth gives about USD 100 million. Both are unverified estimates, and Haaland has not published his finances.
In Norwegian kroner, yes, according to Kapital’s NOK 4.3 billion estimate. In US dollars, that estimate is around USD 460 million, so he would not be a dollar billionaire. Other estimates are lower still.
Reports put his base pay at about GBP 500,000 a week. Capology estimates GBP 525,000 a week gross for 2026-27, excluding bonuses and image-rights income.
Forbes estimates about USD 20 million a year off the field. Kapital reports a Nike deal of about NOK 250 million a year. Neither has been confirmed by the brands.
He is 26, born on 21 July 2000 in Leeds, England. He is Norwegian and grew up in Bryne.
Haaland’s wealth is hard to pin down because his income is large, his companies are spread across the UK and Luxembourg, and the best-known estimates measure different things. The safest reading is a range: tens to hundreds of millions of US dollars, with Kapital’s NOK 4.3 billion at the top end and the best-sourced Norwegian figure.
What is not in doubt is the direction. His earnings run into the tens of millions of dollars a year, and his contract and commercial base run for years.
