Kygo Net Worth 2026

Kygo Net Worth 2026: What the Norwegian DJ Is Really Worth

In 2018, the companies built around Kygo turned over NOK 244 million, and NOK 181 million of that came from one activity: playing live. Dagens Næringsliv (DN) reported those figures, and they explain how this DJ earns his money better than most celebrity rankings do.

Eight years on, Kygo (born Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll) is 35, a co-founder of a festival and hospitality company valued at USD 215 million, and one of Norway’s best-documented high earners. His personal net worth, though, has never been confirmed. Here is what the public record supports, and where it stops.

Kygo’s Net Worth in 2026: What Is Verified and What Isn’t

Kygo has not published his finances. We could not locate a Forbes net-worth profile or a Kapital estimate for him, so any single figure is an estimate. Three kinds of evidence exist, and they measure different things.

1. Online aggregator estimates (USD). Celebrity Net Worth lists USD 25 million. NetWorthSpot estimates USD 17.7 million, with a possible ceiling of USD 28.2 million, but its model leans heavily on Instagram data. A YouTube-earnings tracker puts him near USD 7.87 million, and one site shows as little as USD 5 million. The spread comes from what each site counts, not from new information. Other sites quote much higher numbers with no sourcing, and we have not relied on them.

2. Norwegian tax lists (NOK). The sturdiest public data point is Kygo’s tax-assessed wealth: NOK 142 million for the 2024 income year, up from NOK 120 million the year before. But this is not market net worth. Norwegian tax values apply discounts. Nettavisen noted a 45% discount on shares in 2022, and primary homes valued at up to 25% of estimated value. The real figure is therefore likely higher than the filing.

At roughly NOK 10 to 11 per US dollar (our approximation; we did not verify today’s rate), NOK 142 million is about USD 13 to 14 million. Adjusting for the discounts brings the figure into the neighbourhood of the widely quoted USD 25 million. That is an illustration of why the two numbers are not contradictory, not a measurement.

3. Company accounts (NOK). Register data republished by 21st.ai shows his company Kygo AS with total equity of NOK 171.4 million and operating income of NOK 29.2 million for 2024. Company equity overlaps with personal wealth, so the two cannot simply be added.

Our reading: USD 25 million is the most commonly cited estimate, and the documented Norwegian data neither confirms nor contradicts it. Treat Kygo’s net worth as an unconfirmed estimate.

Early Life and Education

Kygo was born in Singapore to Norwegian parents and raised in Bergen. According to Wikipedia, citing a Billboard cover story, his mother is a dentist, his father worked abroad in the maritime industry, and the family lived and travelled in Brazil, Japan, Kenya and Egypt during his childhood.

He started piano lessons at six, drifted away from them around 15 or 16, and taught himself production with Logic and a MIDI keyboard using YouTube tutorials. When he chose music full time, he was halfway through a business and finance degree at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. That background shows in how he runs his career as a business.

His stage name came from a school username: the first two letters of his first and last names, with the Norwegian “ø” swapped for an “o”.

Career: From a Remix to Stadium Shows

His breakthrough came in December 2013 with a remix of Ed Sheeran’s “I See Fire”. In December 2014 he released “Firestone” with Conrad Sewell. He signed with Sony International and Ultra in 2014, and Avicii and Coldplay’s Chris Martin both reached out about remixes.

The streaming numbers arrived fast. In December 2015 he became the fastest artist to reach one billion Spotify streams, and by June 2016 he had passed two billion. His debut album, Cloud Nine, followed in May 2016. In August 2016 he became the first house music producer to perform at an Olympic closing ceremony, in Rio de Janeiro.

The pop crossover came in 2017 with “It Ain’t Me”, featuring Selena Gomez, which reached the top ten in the US and UK. In 2019 his remix of Whitney Houston’s “Higher Love” topped Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart. According to the RIAA, he has sold 10 million certified albums and singles in the US.

His self-titled 2024 album, released to mark ten years in music, peaked at No. 1 in Norway. At home, a stadium show at Ullevaal drew more than 30,000 fans and set a Norwegian record for tickets sold at a single concert, according to his official site.

How Kygo Earns: Touring, Streaming and the Tax-List Numbers

The earliest accounts show how quickly streaming paid off. Kygo AS reported revenue of NOK 16 million for 2015, up from NOK 240,000 the year before, mostly from streaming and rights income.

Touring then took over. In 2018 he played 87 concerts in 31 countries, earning NOK 90 million before tax, on group turnover of NOK 244 million. The same year, Forbes ranked him 12th among the world’s highest-paid DJs with USD 11.5 million in pretax earnings for June 2017 to June 2018, before fees for agents, managers and lawyers. We found no more recent Forbes figure for him.

His Norwegian tax-list history, drawn from DN, Dagbladet, NRK and others, tells the long story. Figures are for the income year, in NOK.

Year Reported income Net taxable wealth
2017 5.5 million 52.4 million
2018 18 million 83 million
2019 77.5 million 132.8 million
2020 46.2 million 103 million
2021 36.5 million not found
2022 54.2 million 113.5 million
2023 not found 120 million
2024 18 million 142 million

Sources: DN, Dagbladet, NRK (2020), Nettavisen (2021), NRK (2022), Se og Hør (2023, 2024).

One caution on the 2024 row. Tax-list income is the net figure after deductions, and NRK notes it is normally lower than what a person actually earns. NOK 18 million in a year that included a world tour is a tax number, not his gross earnings. Business income also flows through his companies.

For completeness: in 2022 the Norwegian Tax Administration registered a NOK 15 million lien on his Bergen villa and sued over an unpaid bill. His spokesperson called it a misunderstanding, and Finansavisen later reported the matter as resolved.

Palm Tree Crew: The Business Behind the Brand

Kygo’s biggest business bet is Palm Tree Crew, which he co-founded with manager Myles Shear. Digital Music News describes it as a global entertainment, hospitality and investment holding company. The pair also launched the Palm Tree Records label with Sony Music in October 2018.

In September 2025, WME Group led a USD 20 million Series B round that valued Palm Tree Crew at USD 215 million. The company runs nearly ten festivals a year and has brand partnerships with Amazon, DraftKings, Tequila Don Julio and Revolve. Its portfolio includes stakes in Ryl Tea, Cove Soda and SipMARGS, plus participation in startup rounds such as Hook and Sauz.

The key caveat for any net-worth article: USD 215 million is the value of the company, not of Kygo’s share. We could not find his ownership percentage in public reporting, so it would be wrong to multiply or attribute any part of that valuation to him.

Other Investments, Property and Lifestyle

Kygo Life. He launched the lifestyle and audio brand in 2016 with entrepreneur Jon Inge Gullikstad. DN’s headlines over the years have tracked losses in the audio venture, a reminder that not every side project adds to net worth.

Startups. In April 2024, Finansavisen reported he was among investors in golf-tech startup Eagl Technologies. In the same coverage, DN and Finansavisen headlines show an NFT venture that sold digital works for NOK 5.3 million in nine minutes, and then a reported flop in 2025.

Property. In 2018 he paid NOK 41 million for a villa in Bergen, then the city’s most expensive home. Finansavisen’s January 2025 coverage reported a NOK 37 million purchase on Tjuvholmen in Oslo.

Giving. In 2016, NRK reported he would donate USD 50,000 of the profits from a sold-out festival to a Ugandan LGBT advocate.

Formal endorsement fees for Kygo personally are not publicly disclosed, so we do not estimate them.

What’s Next for Kygo in 2026

The Palm Tree machine is still expanding. The Hamptons festival was set for 27 June, its sixth year, and Napa was announced as a two-day event on 2 and 3 October 2026. His South American run earlier in the year included Lollapalooza dates in Argentina, Chile and Brazil. In July, his remix of “Kygo Jo”, a teenage rap track by Erling Haaland that name-checks him, topped Norway’s Spotify chart, according to ESPN.

Conclusion

Kygo’s wealth story is less about one viral remix than about turning a streaming breakthrough into touring income and then into equity in a business. The most reliable figures we have, Norwegian tax filings and company accounts, show steady, documented growth. They do not settle his true net worth.

Until Kygo, Forbes or Kapital publish something definitive, USD 25 million remains a reasonable but unconfirmed estimate. The number that could change the picture is the one nobody has published: how much of Palm Tree Crew he owns.
